Magnifying glass (!)

Take a look at Danny Young's (nzmacro) FZ10 macro gallery. Amongst other amazing macro shots, the `high speed flash and water drops' was apparantly taken using a magnifying glass!

Danny Young's 'high speed flash and water drop' carnation and dahlia

(FZ10, F/8, 1/60th, sunpak 522 fired with a flash slave from the inbuilt flash. Added el-cheapo magnifying glass (not a filter). Edge preserving blur in photoimpact.)

Took me awhile to work out how to fire the flash with a flash slave and still sync with the second burst from the FZ10. The answer was a high speed flash capable of up to 4 bursts a second. So I grabbed the Sunpak 522 and set it for 1/64,000th sec.

Just a carnation bud with a dahlia behind. Dripped water of the top and let the flash take the shot.

All the best as always folks, thanks for your time and help with the FZ10. Danny.
