This USB ethernet adapter is automatically recognised and the Ethernet/network is automatically set up.
If you are unplugging the Ethernet adapter, I would shutdown the connection first, via the `System -- Networking' tool, or perhaps with ifdown. Otherwise, Xubuntu is inclined to crash!
